Artouste’s little train (90 km from Lourdes)

It may look like an oversized toy, but the little train of Artouste is the highest tourist train in Europe.

It goes round the mountain at 2,000 metres on a 10-km narrow-gauge track.

The excursion lasts 3 hours and a half, it covers the cable-car and the train return trip with a stop of 1h26 at the lake of Artouste. During the excursion, you will admire the panoramic view over the Ossau mountains and breathtaking views of the valley of Soussouéou.

On arrival, an arrowed path leads you in 15 minutes to the lake of Artouste which spreads out at the foot of the peaks which are among the highest in the Pyrénées Atlantiques.
