Ibos collegiate church (19 km from Lourdes)

The Ibos church is not a cathedral as there has never been a residing bishop; it is however a collegiate church that is to say a church with a college of canons, whose role is to, by their prayers, represent the community of inhabitants before God and to lend splendour to the religious ceremonies. It was made a collegiate church in 1342 by Philippe VI of Valois, king of France, and regent of the Earldom of Bigorre. It was classified as a Historical monument in 1875.
